A Classical English Wedding in the Cotswolds
A quintessential Cotswolds wedding, held at the bride’s family home and garden, brought together guests from Canada, England, Portugal and France for a weekend of elegant, relaxed celebrations.
The brief was for a classical English wedding with subtle influences from Portugal and Paris, reflected in a timeless blue and white palette, English silver, beautiful florals and carefully considered details throughout.
Guests arrived at the village church by vintage London double-decker bus, accompanied by a choir and musicians for the ceremony. After a traditional peal of bells, a Highland piper led everyone back to the family home for Champagne on the terrace.
The garden was transformed with an elegant Sperry tent for dinner, beautifully styled tables and florals by Matilda Carr of by Matilda. As the evening progressed, the pool became a late-night dance floor, with Vince Dunn’s big band providing the soundtrack and espresso martinis keeping the party going.
The following day was a more relaxed affair, with Bloody Marys, lunch and swimming, while behind the scenes the team reset the garden and packed away the many elements of the weekend.
With more than 14 suppliers, multiple locations and a weekend of complex logistics, the celebration required careful planning, detailed coordination and plenty of behind-the-scenes problem solving.
